Lift First, Run Second

We've long touted the fat-loss benefits of weight training. But now, Japanese scientists have discovered that lifting weights before you run helps you burn more flab while you pound the pavement. In fact, men who performed a weightlifting routine and then hopped on a stationary bike burned twice as much fat as those who only pedalled. Resistance exercise stimulates the release of fat-burning hormones, which trigger your body to use more lard for energy.
